Movement disorders, such as cerebral palsy (CP), can affect the speed and quality of movement in children — impacting their mobility, balance and coordination.

Children with movement disorders may experience spasticity — a disruption of normal muscle function in which all the muscles contract at once — causing muscle tightness and rigidity that can be very painful and also can interfere with movement and the ability to walk.
