Tonie Sadler, PhD, a postdoctoral fellow in health services and outcomes research at Northwestern University and at the Shirley Ryan ±©×ߺÚÁÏ's Center For Rehabilitation Outcomes Research, presented ¡°My Choice, My Way: Implementing Meaningful Person-Centered Practices" at the 2022 TASH conference held in Phoenix, AZ in December. She identifies several best practices for person-centered delivery of HCBS.

Our laboratory uses neural prosthetics to improve both our understanding of brain function as well as restoring movement and communication.

We are working to understand the nature of the somatosensory and motor signals within the brain that control our movements.

We focus on executive function and social cognition, their representations in the brain, and ways to improve these functions in patients with brain damage.

We use biomechanics as a framework for investigating how we move and control our arms and hands following injuries and impairments.

Our research focuses on developing neural control systems for upper and lower prosthetics.

This lab offers this sophisticated gait assessment through the use of specialized cameras, computer technology captures and measures muscle activity.

Being a nurse at a hospital specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation is unlike any other nursing experience. We have a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary environment in which nurses are empowered and have an ongoing opportunity to learn and advance in their careers.
