Upper & Lower Extremity Prosthetics: An Overview
DESCRIPTION
To further broaden the scope and continuity of care skills of all members of the rehabilitation team, this webinar will explore necessary considerations to ensure proper prosthetic care, and will review the following: common principles and classifications of prosthetic devices, functional training, and troubleshooting techniques. This information is important because it promotes and supports collaboration between team members, and an interdisciplinary approach to patient care cultivates a patient centered environment which helps patients achieve their full potential as they return to life after amputation.
LEARNER OUTCOMES
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Apply prosthetic specific considerations in determining the prosthetic prescription
- Identify functional therapy goals with regards to the patient’s prosthesis
- Utilize a systematic approach to troubleshooting prosthetic use
